Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Young Math Brains (“we”, “us”), operated by Anand Subramanian of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, collects, uses, and protects personal data when you use our learning platform. We are committed to handling your data responsibly and in line with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).

1. The data we collect

Account details: the name and email address used to register, and optionally a phone number. Accounts are typically created by a parent or guardian.
Payment details: payments are processed by Razorpay. We receive and store the payment status, amount, plan, and Razorpay reference IDs. We do not receive or store your card number, UPI PIN, or bank details.
Learning activity: your progress, practice and mock-test attempts and scores, which concept apps and lessons you use, time spent, and any feedback or ratings you give. This powers your student and parent dashboards.
Technical data: basic device and browser information, log data, and cookies needed to keep you signed in and to understand how the Service is used.

2. How we use your data

to provide the Service and personalise practice and progress tracking;
to show student and parent dashboards and progress summaries;
to send necessary transactional messages, such as payment confirmations and parent progress updates;
to provide support and respond to your queries;
to improve our content, teaching, and platform; and
to keep the Service secure and to meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not show third-party advertising.

3. Service providers we share data with

We share data only with trusted providers who process it on our behalf to run the Service:

Supabase — database, authentication, and storage (hosted in Singapore);
Vercel — application hosting and delivery;
Razorpay — payment processing;
Resend — sending transactional emails; and
privacy-respecting analytics — to understand product usage in aggregate.

These providers may process data outside India under their own safeguards. We may also disclose data if required by law.

4. Children’s privacy

Young Math Brains is built for CBSE Class 10 students, who are minors, in India and the Gulf region. Accounts are intended to be created and paid for by a parent or legal guardian, ordinarily using the parent’s own email address, and the student studies under that account.

Parents and guardians are expected to supervise their child’s use of the Service. We do not knowingly direct marketing at children, and we do not use a child’s data for behavioural advertising or tracking unrelated to learning. We may introduce a formal parental-consent step in the future. If you believe a child has registered without a parent or guardian, or you want to review or delete a child’s data, contact us and we will act promptly.

5. Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data, except where we must keep certain records (for example, payment records) to meet legal or accounting requirements.

6. Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to withdraw consent where processing relies on it. A parent or guardian may exercise these rights on behalf of a student. To make a request, email connect@youngmathbrains.com.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and database access controls that restrict each user to their own records. No online service can be completely secure, but we work to keep your data safe.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will change the effective date above when we do, and significant changes will be communicated where appropriate.
