This was not a watch-and-copy exercise. The student had to make 3 small mathematical decisions and correct any wrong turns before moving forward.

Reasoning, not answer recognition
Use the threshold and cumulative frequencies to identify the median class before applying the median formula.
The mistake we watch for
A wrong answer is useful evidence
Choosing the class with the highest frequency finds the modal class, not necessarily the median class.
